Ed Belanger is the founder of Belanger Valuation, an independent business valuation firm focused on providing clients with valuation solutions to their transaction planning, financial reporting, tax, and dispute needs. Website at www.belanger-valuation.com. Experience Valuation Ed has expertise in the valuation of businesses, business interests, intangible assets, and derivative securities. He has performed tax-related assignments such as international reorganizations, property tax, MLP establishment, outside tax basis studies, interest expense allocation, and personal tax planning. Much of his work has been for financial reporting purposes under both US GAAP and IFRS. Ed has also provided pre-transaction advisory services including transaction analysis, and solvency and fairness opinions. In the disputes area, he has focus on shareholder buyouts and JV dissolutions. Ed has completed hundreds of valuations of common and preferred stock, restricted securities, debt instruments, carried interest, and a wide variety of intangible assets and other forms of intellectual property. He has experience in a diverse range of industries, including oil and gas, telecom, software, semiconductors, cable & broadcasting, food processing, manufacturing, retail, and professional services, serving both corporate and private equity clients. Business Career Ed began his valuation career after completion of his MBA, spending twelve years in progressive client service roles within a Big Four accounting firm. He then joined a global valuation firm, leading the Southwest region for eight years. At that time, he joined a banking and advisory firm for two years as the national practice leader of its Corporate Valuation Services group, before establishing his own independent practice in 2015. Prior to earning his MBA, Ed was an operations research engineer with a major aerospace and defense company.
