ABOUT MIKE
Mike Lee is a Value Advisor, Executive Coach and Human Capital specialist and the Founder of Peregrine Leadership. He helps owners and CEOs “close their current chapter and ready themselves for the next one” by building the leadership bench, role clarity, and team operating system that reduces key-person risk and creates real transition options.
Mike serves leaders navigating pivotal change - sale, succession, recapitalization, or a meaningful shift in how the business runs - by focusing on the people-work that determines outcomes: right people in the right seats, stronger execution rhythms, and leadership growth under pressure. His work is practical and diagnostic, often using tools like Kolbe (execution instincts and team friction) and the Enneagram (stress patterns and leadership development) to translate insight into observable behavior change.
Over the last 25 years, Mike has built and scaled teams across startups, venture capital, and Fortune 25 environments. He was the founding Director of Talent & People Ops for Menlo Labs (the venture studio inside Menlo Ventures) and previously led talent acquisition at Home Depot QuoteCenter during a period of rapid scale and multiple technology acquisitions. Earlier in his career, he founded a search and leadership advisory firm partnering with early-stage investors and founders - experience that still informs his pattern recognition today, while his current work is intentionally coaching-led. When a critical seat is empty, Mike can advise or run a select search for keystone roles - but search is a tool, not the product.
Mike is Kolbe-certified and CEPA-trained, and he is known for bringing clarity, accountability, and calm momentum to leadership teams in high-stakes seasons. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Tanya, and they have six kids spread across the U.S. and Europe.
