ABOUT AMY
Amy Born, Senior Consultant, brings over 20 years of experience serving nonprofit, corporate, and family business organizations. She approaches her work through an organizational psychology lens, drawing on deep expertise in team dynamics, governance, and strategic development to design collaborative solutions for complex environments. Amy has professional experience in governance for family businesses, leadership team development, organizational culture and strategy, and enhancing team performance within mission-driven organizations. She helps clients achieve exceptional outcomes and foster strong, resilient teams by curating strategies and enhancing team performance. Before joining CFAR, Amy held senior internal positions at organizations including Leading Edge, Korn Ferry Hay Group, and City Year Headquarters. Her consulting engagements have included the World Bank, United States Postal Service, Federal Aviation Administration, law firms, overnight summer camps, The Nature Conservancy, and NASA. Amy’s interest and background in family business stem from growing up as a member of the fourth generation of her family’s candy business, Just Born. Amy has also demonstrated her commitment to the nonprofit sector through service on boards, including Hillel International, Joshua Venture Group (now part of Upstart), and Jewish Studio Project. She currently serves on the Keshet Board of Directors and the Jim Joseph Foundation Board of Directors. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology and theater from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master’s in Social and Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. She resides in the Boston area with her husband and their two children.
