Michael J. Fischer, formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Thinsolutions, has over 35 years of experience in the field of Information Systems. Mike has been an owner of over eight different businesses and has acquired over 14 businesses during his business career. Mr. Fischer has a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Bowling Green State University, College of Business and an MBA from The Ohio State University.
Mr. Fischer founded Thinsolutions in 1997. His leadership helped Thinsolutions to evolve from a pioneering Cleveland IT support company to one of the premier technology services providers, private cloud and managed service companies in Northeast OH. Thinsolutions expanded geographically with three acquisitions in North Carolina and Florida. In 2012, Thinsolutions was acquired by a large strategic buyer, Konica Minolta, and Mr. Fischer stayed on for one year to facilitate the transition of the business.
Mike’s first love is not technology; it’s solving the puzzle around how to grow the profitability and overall value of the businesses that he’s involved in. Mike has been honored to appear on the cover of Crain’s Cleveland Business magazine (2001) and was a member of Crain’s 2002 “40 Under 40” class of individuals making waves in the Cleveland community. Mr. Fischer was honored in 2013 with “The Exit of the Year Award” presented by the Exit Planning Institute for the accomplished sales of Thinsolutions to Konica Minolta.
Mr. Fischer has served for three years on the Board of the Cleveland Chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization where he helped the chapter grow from 25 to 105 members. He also served on the Board of Entrepreneurs Organization of South Florida where he created and established the first Mentorship program.
Mr. Fischer is currently resides in Austin, TX and spends the majority of his time on the growth of WillCo Tech which is a SaaS software product business primarily marketed to improve the Cybersecurity workforce of the DoD. Mike is also a major shareholder in MilitaryHire which is the longest standing veteran job board. Some of his more fun investments include ownership in hotels in Key West and Wine Country Music Festival business which combines wine and country music in a festival format in Austin’s wine country.
