Retirement has shifted from a time of slowing down to an opportunity to “rewire" and find new purpose. Susan’s goal is to redefine retirement and educate financial advisors and exit planning professionals on the need to consider the non-financial retirement issues that their clients face, allowing them to elevate the client experience, stand out in a competitive landscape, and cultivate new business opportunities.

With a 38 year career behind her as a top performing financial advisor at industry leading institutions such as Merrill Lynch, RBC and Richardson Wealth, Susan sold her wealth practice in 2019, gave up her industry licenses to focus solely on working with financial advisors and their clients on the non financial challenges that exiting business owners face.

Susan’s dedication to professional development is exemplified by her designations, including FEA  (Family Enterprise Advisor) ICD. D (Institute of Corporate Directors)  and CPRC ( Certified Professional Retirement Coach).

She was a former board member of Richardson Financial Group where she was honoured with the prestigious Hummingbird Award, and a current position as a faculty member of Exit Planning Institute. She sits on the investment committee of a private family foundation.

Susan has published several  books including “On the Shoulders of Atlas, A Story about Transitioning a Family Owned Business” and her latest book, “ 9 Steps to RichLife Retirement, Live Well, Give Back, Leave a Legacy”.

As a speaker, Susan shares her first hand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that financial advisors and their clients face in the new landscape of retirement.
